To his surprise, xQc later discovered that Pokimane had unfollowed him on Instagram. He expressed his belief that Pokimane should have understood that the tweet made about him was “just f****** stupid.”
However, xQc did not seem to hold Pokimane entirely responsible for her actions. In another stream, he acknowledged his own role in the situation, saying, “I understand that there is a social standing I need to uphold in order to maintain my friendship, and I didn’t do that recently. So, I’m not [on] the follow-list. What can I say, man, I’m a f*** up.”
The revelation of their strained friendship did not come as a shock to xQc’s viewers. Some theorized that Pokimane “has to uphold her image,” suggesting that she has taken a more family-friendly route while xQc has chosen a more brand-risk route in his content.
