With Twitch tightening its regulations on gambling content, some streamers have turned to alternatives like Kick, a platform that permits a wide range of broadcasting.

xQc, one of the most recognizable names in the streaming world, recently made his debut on Kick by engaging in gambling activities during his August 15 stream. This decision stirred controversy among his viewers, especially in light of his recent personal struggles and controversies.
Facing criticism from his audience, xQc didn’t shy away from addressing the situation. He suggested that some viewers were eagerly waiting for an opportunity to criticize him.
“It was just really, not disheartening, disappointing I’d say to see other people waiting for me to be under fire again to pile on and get bonus points on their maps because they know I don’t have a good standing with the world right now, so they just want to pile on,” xQc expressed, shortly before concluding his Kick stream.
The streamer expressed his frustration with opportunistic behaviour and the timing of criticism. He asserted that honest criticism doesn’t require the right timing and should be voiced regardless of the circumstances.
“It’s just weird to see people and their opportunism. It is what it is though. Like I’ve always said, you don’t need timing when you’re right, you just don’t. If you have something to say and have some criticism with somebody, it doesn’t matter when you say it, you can just f*cking say it. Chiming in is stupid.”
