Worlds 2022: Top Esports qualifies for the Worlds, and becomes the first LPL 2022 Summer team to do so – The largest League of Legends esports event of the year, the 2022 World Championship is just a month away. The top teams from Riot Leagues around the world qualify to take part in this tournament. The winning team is crowned the World Champions and gets to lift the spectacular Summoner’s Cup.
LPL is the Chinese region that sends 4 teams to the League of Legends World Championship every year. It is a key region as it not only boasts the most number of League players, but multiple teams from here have won the championship.
Even last year’s champions, Edward Gaming are from the LPL. Hence, the teams coming from here have a high chance of winning the tournament. This year, Top Esports has become the first LPL team to qualify for the Worlds 2022.

The team qualified because it had enough championship points (joining their Spring and Summer split points).
Teams that have made it to Worlds 2022 till now
Teams from other regions have also qualified for the tournament.
- G2 Esports (LEC) – They were the first team to qualify for Worlds 2022 this year.
- Gen.G (LCK) – They became the first team to qualify from Korea.
- T1 (LCK) – They were the second team to qualify from Korea.
Now along with Top Esports from LPL 2022 Summer, there are a total of four teams that have qualified for Worlds 2022 thanks to their championship points.
This year, the 2022 League of Legends World Championship is set to be held in various cities across North America. 24 teams from 11 regions will take part in this event. Unfortunately, the LCL will not be able to send a representative to Worlds 2022 and their spot will be given to LEC.
