1st Semi-Final
Damwon KIA and T1 went head to head for a spot in the Grand Finals. T1 was being led by the legendary Faker and was supported by the brilliant new members of the organization. They were able to stage comebacks at many instances of the series. Still, it was the clinical gameplay of the Damwon KIA team along with the phenomenal performances from ShowMaker and Ghost that ensured that Damwon KIA advanced to the Grand Finals.
2nd Semi-Final
Both Gen.G and Edward Gaming had silenced their critics by reaching this far in the tournament. In the semi-finals, Gen.G played methodically as one would expect from a top LCK team. Their approach and focus on objectives helped them to fight off the aggressive playstyle of Edward Gaming. Still, it was Scout’s EDG who conquered Gen.G in the 5th match and gave the LPL region a chance of winning back the Summoner’s Cup.
