Wild Rift Icons Global Championship 2022: Overview, teams, and everything else you need to know – The Wild Rift Icons Global Championship 2022 is the first-ever global championship for the game. 24 teams have qualified for this event from the 8 regions where the game has started its esports league. Here is a brief overview of the upcoming tournament.
Icons 2022: Format
The tournament will follow the current Wild Rift 3.2b patch and will be held in 3-stages.
- Play-in Stage:
- It will be held from June 14 till June 18.
- The 16 teams will be divided into 4 groups.
- It will follow a double-elimination bracket.
- All team matches will be a best-of-3 match series.
- Only the top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the Group Stage.
- Group Stage:
- It will be held from June 21 till June 25.
- 8 directly qualified teams along with the 8 teams that advanced from the Play-in Stage will be divided into 4 groups, each having 4 teams in it.
- It will also have a double-elimination bracket.
- All team matches will be a best-of-3 match series.
- Only the top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the Knockout Stage.

- Knockout Stage:
- It will be held from July 1 till July 9.
- It will follow a single-elimination format.
- The Quarterfinals and Semifinals of the Icons 2022 will be played in the best-of-5 match series.
- The Finals of the Wild Rift Icons Global Championship 2022 will be played in a best-of-7 match series.

The following eight teams have directly qualified for the Group Stage by winning their respective Wild Rift regional leagues.

- Sengoku Gaming (Japan Cup)

- Leviatán (Open Latinoamerica)
- Immortals (North America Series)
- Team Queso (EMEA Championship)
Apart from them, the following 16 teams will be competing in the Play-in Stage to have a chance at qualifying for the Group Stage.

Icons 2022: Prize Pool and Where to watch
The total prize pool of the tournament will be USD $2,000,000. Apart from this, an additional 25% of all Majestic Empress Morgana Skin sales revenue will also be equally distributed among the Top 8 teams at Icons 2022.
