Following the completion of eight sub-regional VALORANT Champions Tour events across Asia-Pacific yesterday, the 20 teams for VCT APAC Stage 1 Challengers were determined. A lengthy qualifying process involving hundreds of teams from across the Asia-Pacific region determined the participating teams.
South Asia and Oceania will now compete in the APAC circuit alongside Southeast Asia markets, bringing the total number of participating regions to eight. As a result of their inclusion, players from South Asia and Oceania will now be subject to the APAC residency rule and will no longer be considered imports. Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Asia, Oceania, Singapore/Malaysia, and Taiwan/Hong Kong are among the total competitive markets.

The VCT APAC Stage 1 Challengers will take place on March 10-27, and will feature a stacked field of 20 of APAC’s best teams. Notably absent from the team list is Team Secret, with the other Masters-qualified team from SEA last year making it to Stage 1. The top three teams at the event, XERXIA Esports, Paper Rex, and FULL SENSE, will all fancy their chances, but there are several intriguing dark horses with no prior VCT experience who could steal the show from the more experienced teams. But Teams from newly added region- South Asia and Oceania can also be surprise factor for APAC teams. Valorant
