VCT 2021: Team Secret (former Bren Esports) from the Philippines get Slot in Valorant Champions 2021: VCT Masters Berlin had never seen a match as close as today’s between Paper Rex and SuperMassive Blaze. In a high-stakes series where the loser received a plane ticket home, both VALORANT teams had their backs against the wall. SuperMassive Blaze defeated Paper Rex 2-1 in a tense encounter in which both teams gave it their all. Apart from the second map on Breeze, both teams fought hard to stay in the competition.

Riot Games officially announced that Team Secret Valorant would be taking the second Southeast Asian place at Valorant Champions just moments after Turkey’s SuperMassive Blaze eliminated Singapore’s Paper Rex in a nail-biter of a matchup.

The ex-BREN Esports roster was intended to be the SEA #1 seed heading into Masters Berlin, but they were unable to compete owing to complications with obtaining travel permits. The BREN Esports organization and their Valorant roster parted ways just days after this heartbreaking event.

Following Paper Rex’s elimination from Masters Berlin by SuperMassive Blaze, both teams are now tied for first place in the Champions Tour Southeast Asia points standings, with both teams sitting at 225 points. Bren Esports had won the regional qualifying for Team Secret, however, the organization let them go after they were unable to compete at Masters in Berlin.

Team Secret is the eighth team to be selected for Valorant Champions 2021, which will take place in Berlin in December. Here are the eight teams that will compete in the VCT’s final event of the year as of this writing:

  • Sentinels (NA)
  • Vision Strikers (KR)
  • Crazy Racoons (JP)
  • Team Vikings (BR)
  • Vivo Keyd (BR)
  • KRU Esports (LATAM)
  • X10 (SEA)
  • Team Secret (SEA)
