The International 2023 aka TI2023 will have a prize pool of $3 million
Although no specific details were provided, it is expected that Valve will make adjustments to the crowdfunding system, considering the absence of the Battle Pass. The Battle Pass, which was a major contributor to the prize pool in previous years, allowed players to participate in level grinding and unlock cosmetic items. With its removal, questions from fans now revolve around the content Valve will release for TI12 and the final prize pool amount.
It is worth noting that the prize pool for The International has seen a decline for two consecutive years after setting esports records for ten years in a row. This, coupled with the emergence of the $15 million Riyadh Masters, a Dota Pro Circuit event aiming to capture market share, has sparked concerns among fans and players about the future of The International.
With just three months remaining until the highly anticipated TI12 event in Seattle, Valve has not yet settled on the revenue-sharing model for the tournament’s prize pool. As fans eagerly await an official announcement, it is estimated that the total prize pool for TI12 could range between $12 million and $15 million.
