VALORANT Premier Global Open Beta: Riot Games announces new in-game competitive system, CHECK DETAILS
As per the devs’ announcement, the global open beta for Premier will start with Episode Six, Act Three. Hence, the wait is not too long as it will be live in as soon as May. The exact date has not been mentioned yet.
The Premier has been cited as the official “path-to-pro” game mode for competitive VALORANT in the future. It is similar to the Clash mode in League of Legends. According to the Alpha test which was conducted in Brazil earlier, Premier will allow players to build teams and compete in scheduled weekly matches during an Act.
Using this in-game competitive system, amateur players will find a smoother paved path to enter the VALORANT esports ecosystem. It gives players a clearer goal on how to rise through the tiers—from Premier to Challengers, then international VCT leagues, and maybe even the Champions tournament.
During each Act in VALORANT, one Premier season will take place. It will culminate into a playoff tournament where teams will win and move forward to become the champion of their skill division.
The teams which succeed at reaching the highest divisions of Premier will get an opportunity to compete in the regional Challengers leagues. Leo Faria, the VALORANT esports lead has admitted to the Premier being the replacement of open qualifiers in the future.
