VALORANT Champions Day 5: FULL SENSE, Crazy Raccoon, FURIA Esports & Vivo Keyd are out of Champions Race. VALORANT Champions Day 5 was the first day of elimination matchups, with Riot Games announcing a final verdict on the Vivo Keyd vs. Acend encounter. After losing their lead, Acend pulled off a surprising triumph in the rematch.
Fans say their goodbyes to FULL SENSE, Crazy Raccoon, and FURIA Esports outside of the additional game, after all, three teams lost in the lowest bracket of their respective groups.
MATCH 1: ACEND CS VIVO Keyd
The Acend and Vivo Keyd saga was eventually resolved in the opening match of the day. Acend won the series and will face Envy in the Group A Winner’s match, while Vivo Keyd will face X10 CRIT in the Elimination match. With a respectable showing, Vivo Keyd won the opening game on Icebox 13-9. Acend drew one back from Bind 13-3 in a merciless manner that was more along the lines of what was expected. Despite Acend’s best efforts, Vivo Keyd managed to win 13-8 in the final game in Breeze, causing a big upset.
Vivo Keyd will need to win two more games to advance to the playoffs, where three other teams have already failed.
MATCH 2: CRAZY RACOONS VS TEAM SECRET
Crazy Raccoon was the tournament’s first victim, being eliminated by Team Secret in the Group C Elimination match. Then we’re swept in their first match against Team Vikings, and they failed to win a map against Team Secret, resulting in their elimination from the competition.
Match 3: FURIA vs KRÜ
While Vivo Keyd and Brazilian supporters seemed to be the main story of the day at the start of the day, KRÜ was able to cut through the din and continue their excellent international record. Their victory over FURIA is the third time in three international tournaments that the Argentinian organization has eliminated a Brazilian team. In the 3 match series, Kru Esports was able to pull out victory 2-1.
Match 4: FULL SENSE VS CLOUD 9
FULL SENSE from Group D was the day’s final victim. Group D was widely regarded as the most difficult, and FULL SENSE found themselves between a rock and a hard place. In their first match, they were swept by Vision Strikers and advanced to the Elimination round against Cloud9 Blue. They forced Breeze into overtime but were unable to extend the series to map three, and the team was eliminated from the event without winning a single map.
