NRG vs BiliBili
On day 3 of VALORANT Champions 2023, a major upset unfolded as Chinese representatives BiliBili Gaming secured a remarkable 2-0 victory over NRG. Despite a challenging start on their chosen map, Lotus, BiliBili persevered, trailing 5-7 after the first half. A gripping second half ensued, with NRG attempting a comeback, but BiliBili held firm, ultimately prevailing 14-12 to clinch a tense and thrilling victory.
BiliBili exhibited complete dominance in the second Split map, securing an 8-4 lead in the first half, which they later extended to a decisive 13-8 victory. This forces NRG into a lower bracket run.
ZETA vs Fnatic
Meanwhile, in the day’s second matchup, reigning champions Fnatic showcased their prowess by shutting down the Japanese team. ZETA’s map pick, Fracture, resulted in a resounding 13-5 win for Fnatic. ZETA displayed greater resilience during the initial half of the second match on Haven, but faltered in the latter half. Fnatic clinched the second map with a 13-6 score. Consequently, ZETA now faces NRG in the lower brackets.
Evil Geniuses vs FUT
The day’s concluding clash featured Evil Geniuses and FUT. EG had previously triumphed over FPX, while FUT secured victory against T1. The initial battle unfolded on Pearl, EG’s selected map. Despite a closely fought duel, EG emerged victorious in the first map with a 15-13 overtime score.
Transitioning to the second map, Bind, FUT struggled to replicate their earlier resilience. The opening half concluded at a deadlock with a 6-6 score, yet EG asserted dominance in the latter half, securing a commanding 13-9 score to seal the map.
