VALORANT Champions 2021 Quarterfinals: Gambit Esports and KRU Esports advance into the Semifinals. We have witnessed some amazing gameplays in the final two VALORANT Champions 2021 Quarterfinals. X10 CRIT almost gave Gambit Esports a scare, but the Masters Berlin winners bounced back to finally win and advance to the Semifinals. KRU Esports are continuing to play their role of being the upset machine for major teams. They also knocked out Fnatic from the tournament and have qualified for the Semifinals. Here is the breakdown of the matches.

The first map was Fracture in which Gambit took a sizeable lead against X10 in the first half with a 9-3 score. Although x10 tried to bounce back in the second half, Gambit was able to win 4 rounds easily to win this map with a 13-7 score. In the second map Ascent, X10 came on top of Gambit in the first half with a small lead of 7-5. They rode on this momentum in the second half to win 6 rounds against Gambit’s 2. Thus, X10 won Ascent with a 13-7 score. Gambit prevented themselves from getting knocked out of the tournament by playing carefully in the third map Breeze. In the first half, they got a 7-5 score over X10 while in the second half, they won 6 rounds quickly to win the map. Gambit Esports will advance into the Semifinals after winning the series 2-1.

In the first map Haven, Fnatic took a good lead in the first half with an 8-4 round score. But KRU bounced back with their own 8-4 in the second half to force overtime. In the first set, both teams won 1-1 round each but in the second set KRU won 2 rounds consecutively to make Haven their first map win. Icebox was the second map and Fnatic demolished KRU in the first half by taking a 10-2 round score. KRU tried to come back but Fnatic finished the game quickly by winning 3 rounds. Having a round score of 13-6, Fnatic won over Icebox. In the third map Split, KRU took an early game lead in the first half with a 7-5 round score. They carried the momentum in the second half and won it with a 6-3 round score. Thus, KRU Esports will advance into the Semifinals by knocking out another major team by 2-1.
Conclusion
Although X10 CRIT fought bravely. they were not able to perform another upset and Gambit knock them out to advance into the Semifinals. With three European teams already advancing to the Semifinals (i.e Team Liquid, Acend, and Gambit Esports), many people considered Fnatic the favorites in the last Quarterfinal matchup. But KRU Esports came with a winning mindset irrespective of what others thought of them. They now advance into the Semifinals and will now face Gambit Esports on 12th December.
