The VALORANT Champions 2021 tournament kicked off with three incredible matches yesterday, but the headline games on day two are where things start to get really interesting, with teams like Sentinels, Team Liquid, Team Secret, and reigning Valorant Masters champions Gambit Esports playing later today. Well, we have received the result of the very first clash of Day 2, where Gambit Esports Outperformed Team Secret after their unexpected defeat on Icebox. Gambit Esports also register their second 13-0 performance in Valorant Global Event.
VALORANT Champions 2021: Gambit Esports Completely Thrashed Team Secret 2-1, Including 13-0 on Breeze
Match 1: ICEBOX
In the map of Icebox, the reigning champions and a VALORANT squad considered a favourite to reach the finals, Team Secret had their work cut out for them. However, they got off to a quick start on Icebox, winning their first duels to take a 5-1 lead during their defensive half. Secret led 8-4 at the halftime break.

Gambit won the second half pistol round and the anti-eco that followed, but they lost the bonus round and the first full purchase. Team Secret stunned the reigning Berlin champions 13-6 on Icebox, seeming as though they knew all of Gambit’s secrets.
Map 2: Breeze
Gambit, on the other hand, immediately reversed their course on Breeze, soon establishing a commanding lead with an overwhelming attacking force. Back-to-back post-plant clutches from nAts capped a strong first half for the Masters champions, who led 12-0. Gambit responded to their Icebox setback with a 13-0 victory over Breeze by claiming the second-half pistol.

MAP 3: Bind
Bind was the game-winner, and it began with the two sides trading rounds back and forth, with another ace from Gambit, this time via nAts. Gambit took a 7-5 lead at halftime after a beautiful clutch transfer from Redgar.

Gambit began to pull away with rock-solid site holds on defence after winning the anti-eco round after pistol. Team Secret simply couldn’t win rounds and keep their economy afloat, so Gambit cruised to a 13-6 victory to complete the comeback and the upset.
