Valorant Champions 2021: Despite Heroic Fight, KRU Esports was not Able to Cross Gambit Barrier. Gambit just defeated KRU Esports 2-1, to earn a spot in the Valorant Champions 2021 Finals. They will almost certainly face ACEND, who defeated Team Liquid 2-0. Despite falling behind 4-8 at halftime on both Breeze and Bind, the VCT Stage 3 Masters Berlin victors were able to repeat this feat by defeating KRU Esports.

Juan Pablo “Nagzet” Lopez Miranda and Angelo “keznit” Mori of KRU Esports combined for 45 kills, but Gambit Esports went on a nine-round winning streak after halftime. They went on to win the first game 13-8 on Breeze. Many were not expecting this type of comeback from the side of Gambit
The Latin American team fought back on their preferred map, Ascent, and defeated Gambit Esports 13-7. When the CIS team went to the attacking side after halftime, they struggled. Roberto Francisco “Mazino” Rivas Bugueo’s Sova, who finished as the map MVP with a 28/12/6 KDA and 383 ACS, punished them for pushing into mid with all five players. After these two back and forth maps we came to deciding map of Bind.
Bind was the only map that was not picked or banned with the score tied 1-1. KRU Esports got out to another good start, leading 7-1. This was 3rd time in a row KRU esports dominated Gambit on the initial few rounds. The Latin American team has even devised counter-strategies to combat Gambit Esports’ passive style of play. They hid their location with Viper’s Poison Cloud and then rushed their opponents, successfully catching Gambit off guard and giving KRU a 10-4 lead. Gambit fans nearly lost hope seeing insane counter combats from sides of KRU.
Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov of Gambit Esports then took over the game, delivering many impact plays that kept his team from being ousted from Valorant Champions. With an ace that turned the direction of the game, he received the tournament’s highlight. As both teams refused to lose, the game went back and forth, reaching five consecutive extra rounds. Gambit Esports was ultimately able to put their opponents away in the 33rd and 34th rounds. Gambit sealed Victory 18-16.
With this win Gambit secured one more chance to prove why they are the Powerhouse of Valorant Esports community. Gambit will fight against Acend in the Valorant Champions 2021 Grand Finals.
