Valorant Champions 2021: ACEND becomes First Finalist After Defeating Team Liquid 2-0. After sweeping the Team Liquid today, Acend became the first team to qualify for the VALORANT Champions Grand finals. Acend made it through Group A without dropping a game, defeating Vivo Keyd in the tournament’s most contentious encounter. In the winner’s match, they had less issue with Envy, sweeping them 2-0 to secure their berth in the playoffs.

MAP 1: BIND

With both Acend and Liquid swapping rounds back and forth and both key duelists in ScreaM and zeek regularly making spectacular plays, the first half of Bind provided a preview for the rest of the series. He finished the half with 15 kills, putting Acend up 8-4.

Acend demonstrated why Bind is a favourite of theirs by assaulting Liquid’s defense with outstanding shooting and post-planting. ScreaM’s clean shots couldn’t keep Acend off the sites, and they cruised to a 13-6 win on their finest map.

MAP2: SPLIT

Despite a miraculous, heroic ace from ScreaM, Liquid’s momentum continued to fade owing to some back-breaking retakes and plant denials by Acend, who started Split behind 0-3. Acend was winning even the most unexpected rounds, such as two-against-four retake scenarios, and cruising to an 11-1 halftime advantage.

Liquid avoided elimination with a massive retake to force an Acend timeout and eco before the first full-buy round of the half. Acend, on the other hand, faked B, planted A, and held off the retake in the next full buy to achieve a 13-5 win on Liquid’s pick and claim the series victory and qualify for VALORANT Champions Grand finals.
