VALORANT Challengers South Asia 2023

MAP 1: ASCENT

The very first map of the day was played on Ascent, which was picked by True Rippers. Velocity took a pistol round but was followed back by MLT with a counter round. MLT Esports mostly had an edge over TRR in the first half. The first half ended with a 7-5 score in favour of Velocity gaming.

The second half was a complete disaster for MLT Esports. They failed to secure even a single round against TRR. The first map ultimately ended with a 13-7 score in favour of TRR. TRR was now 1-0 up in the Bo3 matchup.

MAP 2: HAVEN

After trailing on the first map, GR started very well on the opponent map pick – Haven. MLT secured 3 back-to-back rounds but in return, they lost the next 4 rounds in a row, MLT finished the first half with a 7-5 score in their favour. This was pretty much a glimpse of the first map.

True Rippers again dominated the second half giving flashbacks of the first map. There were back-and-forth exchanges of rounds. True rippers ultimately secure the second half as D1srupt showed some insane gameplay. However, Venka2cold was the leading fragster in this match but ended up as the losing side.

With this win, True Rippers climbed to the top position of group B ahead of Velocity gaming. Meanwhile, MLT Esports finished bottom as of now but lots of matchups are still pending. The top 3 teams from each group will advance to the main event.
