Valkyrae is stunned as Addison Rae unveils blue light skincare – As Addison Rae unveils blue light skincare, Valkyrae is stunned. After TikTok star Addison Rae announced her new skincare product designed to protect against ‘blue light,’ Valkyrae was left perplexed – just months after Valkyrae had received the kind of backlash for the same move.
A skincare product called RFLCT was launched by Valkyrie in October 2021 with the primary purpose of protecting young people from blue light pollution emitted from screens. Although she was passionate about the project, the backlash quickly mounted, and less than two weeks later the entire thing was scrapped.
Despite feeling more comfortable about cracking RFLCT jokes on stream and speaking openly about the incident since then, Valkyrae was stunned to see Addison Rae follow the same path.
The product from Addison is called Screen Break, and its marketing is very similar to RFLCT. It’s touted as protecting against blue light pollution as indicated by its name. Despite the backlash Valkyrae received, many would-be confused by Addison’s decision to go ahead with this, including Valkyrae herself.
“I’m rebranding as Valky! How is this possible?!” she blurted out on Twitter when she heard about Addison’s new venture, even saying that she wasn’t surprised if it was the same company. Making fun of the situation, she even changed her Twitter name to ‘JUST VALKY’, dropping the ‘Rae’ that she shares with Addison.
It is understandable why Valky is frustrated with the situation. It’s not surprising that she may feel a bit put out about another influencer leveraging the opportunity after spending so long working on RFLCT. There is now a question of whether Addison Rae will receive the same type of backlash as Valkyrae did.
