Perrikaryal is a British-Canadian Twitch streamer having a Master’s in Psychology. Her channel has about 12.5K followers on the purple platform. Apart from discussing matters related to the scientific field, she dives into playing one of the renowned games Elden Ring using an electroencephalogram (EEG) device. This device has tubes that are attached to her scalp to trap electrical neural activity which enables her to control the game’s mechanics using her brain signals.

The EEG includes a program that displays a cube on the screen in order to teach this brain-computer interaction. The system logs the user’s ideas for moving the cube in different directions. Hours are spent honing each unique interaction with the cube. Perrikaryal utilizes this technique of the EEG program to make her brain learn about the patterns and play accordingly.
Using the EEG, Perrikaryal is taking out challenging foes in Elden Ring. There is sometimes a lag between wanting to unleash the attack and it really happening, so she has to remind herself to breathe. However, it would be possible to acquire better real-time reactions with more practice and focus. “At some point, it’s not a limitation of the device,” she said during her stream. “It’s a limitation of what we know about the brain.”

Additionally, Perri made clear in one of her streams that she isn’t necessarily innovating but rather bringing the benefits of EEG usage to the public’s attention. “It’s not that crazy, it’s really easy to do. And it’s been done since 1988,” she revealed about gaming using her brain. “It’s not necessarily anything new that I’m doing, I’m just not sure that it’s very well known.”
The setup, which makes use of an EEG headset, is “not that complex,” said Perrikaryal. “It’s just a key bind, basically.” She also desires Elon Musk and Neuralink to come up with innovative gadgets and try their technology to boost this way of gaming. It is these new innovative ways of gaming that will take this sector into an upgraded version and become more inclusive.
