The Mayor of New York City suggested “outside influencers” might have amplified the unrest. Responding to the turmoil, the NYPD seeks public assistance to identify more suspects linked to the disorderly incident.
NYPD Chief Jeffery Maddrey called for help on August 7, urging the public to provide information about individuals involved in the riot. NYPD Crime Stoppers released security camera footage of individuals sought in connection with the incident. Chief Maddrey acknowledged that some suspects might have motives beyond their connection to Kai Cenat.
Chief Maddrey emphasized that regardless of the cause, the danger and chaos were unacceptable. âWeâre looking at all possibilities. Weâre looking at every investigative lead. But as I said, it was dangerous, whether, outside agitators or young people, it was a dangerous situation,â the Chief said,
âIt was not the place to bring that sort of activity. Our young people deserve to come out in the summertime, see the people they admire, and have a good time. It should never, ever reach that level, the level that it did on Friday.â
