Twitch accidentally revealed the streaming future of Pokimane- After declaring that her contract with Twitch had expired, popular streamer Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys fuelled suspicions that she was transferring to YouTube – and Twitch may have revealed her choice early. Pokimane’s Twitch contract expired on January 31, and she said the “next chapter” of her career would be unveiled on February 8.
Then, in the guise of a Wordle puzzle, YouTube appeared to tease a Pokimane signing, fueling speculation that she would be departing the Amazon-owned platform. With the release of Twitch Gameplan, a new advertising certification scheme, Twitch may have just slipped up on her decision.

Twitch accidentally revealed the streaming future of Pokimane
Twitch Gameplan is an “interactive learning experience, designed to assist media agencies and brands level up their advertising on Twitch,” according to Damian Burns, the Senior Vice President of Twitch Europe.
Twitch unveiled its February 15 launch plans on its website, which include “exclusive interviews with our most followed female streamer Pokimane and Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda.” Could this suggest that Pokimane has already been fired from Twitch, which is why she’s attending Gameplan’s launch? We’ll have to wait and see, but if Pokimane just moved to stream platforms, she’s unlikely to be engaged.
In recent months, YouTube has made a number of significant steps. They signed contracts with Dr. Lupo, TimTheTatman, and Ludwig, among others, with many more in the pipeline.
Pokimane could be a massive addition to their ranks, and one of the biggest since Ninja and Shroud switched for Mixer. With Valkyrae resigning with them, Pokimane may be a huge addition to their ranks, and one of the biggest we’ve seen since Ninja and Shroud moved for Mixer.
Still, this new revelation could jeopardize Pokimane’s move to YouTube, but we’ll have to wait and see after she makes her announcement on February 8 and explains what’s next for her career.
