The International 2023: Schedule, Format, and much more has been revealed – DOTA 2’s largest esports competition of this year, The International 2023, is going to be held in the month of October. 20 teams from around the world will participate for a chance to become the champions. Today, more details about this tournament was revealed. Let’s take a look at it.

The International 2023 will be kick off on Oct. 12 and it will continue until the Grand Finals which will be held on Oct. 29.
Schedule
The schedule for the event will be:
- Group Stage
- Phase One: Oct. 12 – 13
- Phase Two: Oct. 14 – 15
- Playoffs
- Upper Bracket: Oct. 20
- Lower Bracket: Oct. 21 – 22
- Main Event: Oct. 27 – 29

Qualified Teams
- Dota Pro Circuit: 12 teams have qualified to this event according to their ranking on the Dota Pro Circuit.
- Team Liquid
- Gaimin Gladiators
- Tundra Esports
- 9Pandas
- Evil Geniuses
- PSG.LGD
- Shopify Rebellion
- Talon Esports
- beastcoast
- Team Spirit
- TSM
- BetBoom Team
- Regional Qualifiers: 8 teams will qualify through Regional Qualifiers
- 1 team each from North America, Eastern Europe, China and Southeast Asia
- 2 teams each from Western Europe and South America
Format
- Group Stage
- Phase One: There will be four groups, each having 5 teams. It will follow round robin format. The bottom team in each group get eliminated.
- Phase Two: Remaining 16 teams will play eight best-of-3 match series head-to-head. The 8 winning teams will go to the Playoffs Upper Bracket, while the 8 losing teams will go to the Playoffs Lower Bracket.
- Playoffs
- Upper Bracket: 8 teams will face off in four best-of-3 match series. The 4 winning teams will move to the Main Event Upper Bracket. The 4 losing teams will move to the Playoffs Lower Bracket.
- Lower Bracket: 12 teams will face off in eight best-of-3 match series. The final 4 winning teams will move to the Main Event Lower Bracket. The 8 losing teams will be eliminated.
- Main Event
- The International 2023 Main Event will have 8 teams following a double elimination bracket format.
- All matches will be best-of-3 series except the Grand Finals which will be best-of-5 series.
With The International returning to the United States this year, many North American DOTA 2 fans will get a chance to witness the best teams compete to become the TI12 World Champions.
