The inaugural Wild Rift Champions SEA 2022 will kick off on 25th February- Riot Games have announced the details of the inaugural season of Wild Rift Champions SEA 2022. This tournament will invite qualified teams of the 6 major countries in Southeast Asia. This multiple-region tournament will have some teams that had participated in the Wild Rift SEA Icon Series last year, while also featuring many new teams. Here are all the details about this event.
Wild Rift Champions SEA 2022: Format
The format for the Wild Rift Champions SEA (WCS) 2022 will be as follows:
- Regular Season: It will be held over a period of 5 weeks. It will have a best-of-three double round-robin format in the regular season. The top 6 teams from the regular season will then advance to the WCS Playoffs.
- Playoffs Stage: It will be held over a period of 2 weeks from 1st till 10th April. It will follow a double-elimination format. The winning teams in the playoffs will represent their region in the WCS Finals.
- Finals: The WCS finals will be a pan-regional showdown that will determine the best teams in the region. The top four teams that reach here will also represent the Southeast Asian region in the Wild Rift Icons Global Championship which will take place in Europe later in the Summer.

Teams from six regions will be participating in the Wild Rift Champions SEA 2022.

- WCS Indonesia – MBR Gamma, BOOM Esports, Echo Fortius, Persis Esports, The Black Horse, Pasopati Esports, Papa Gaming, Cursed Moon
- WCS Masters – ONE team, Flash Wolves, TQQ Esports, MESPORTS, QWQ, PVP, LFD, FTG
- WCS Malaysia & Singapore – Sem9, Reach the Peak, Upcar Esports, Team Watermelon, TODAK, PathSeeker
- WCS Philippines – Team Secret, FENNEL Adversity, LF Adoption, Rex Regum Qeon, Cerebrum Wildrift, Sunsparks, GrindSky Esports
- WCS Thailand – EVOS Esports, Buriram United Esports, INVATE Esports, Lynxeno, Alchemy, Oxygen, Mercenary New Generation, Arctic Fox
- WCS Vietnam – SBTC Esports, MDH Esports, Team Flash, Cerberus Esports, Saigon Phantom, Royal Palace Esport, AS Esports, The Legendary Ganker
The remaining qualified teams for WCS Philippines and WCS Malaysia & Singapore will be also be announced shortly.
