Skeyesports Championship series- Rest of South Asia finally concluded with Team Orangutan emerging victorious in the grand finals. Team Orangutan clean sweep(3-0) Prime 5 in Best of 5 series including 13-0 in the 3rd map. We don’t had to wait long for our South Asian champions, as Orangutans won the first three maps quickly. Despite losing in the finals, the runner-up team Prime 5 also secured a spot in the group rounds of the next round.
Prime5 gaming and Team Orangutam both made it to the grand finals without losing a single map, but the finale was a different story for Prime 5 boys, who looked completely clueless against their opponents in the map of Ascent as well as Bind despite putting up a good fight on the first map of Haven. Orangutan got out to a fast start, winning the Haven map by a score of 13-6. However, the map did not appear as smooth as it does now since Prime 5 trailed 5-7 at the half. Orangutan lost only one round in the second half and dominated the map.
Fans were anticipating a tough fight from the sides of Prime 5 gaming on the second map but they got completely thrashed by Orangutan. Team Orangutan started the map of Ascent as a defender’s side and were completely dominant from start. Prime 5 gaming wasn’t even able to enter the site due to the stronghold of sites by Ghost and ShooteR. Team Orangutan Sealed this map by a score of 13-4. In the third map of Bind, OG won the game by a score of 13-0 over Prime 5. With this victory, Orangutan made their debut in the Valorant competitive arena. It would be interesting to see how this new squad does in the Skyesports Champions Series group stages when some of the seasoned teams will be present to face them.
