OpTic Gaming may be accumulating yet another Envy team after members of Team Envy VALORANT were spotted on the Envy website posing in OpTic Gaming jerseys. Envy and OpTic Gaming merged at the end of 2021, with Envy acquiring the OpTic Gaming brand, which was previously under the NRG Esports banner. Envy merged its Call of Duty roster Dallas Empire with OpTic Chicago following the acquisition of OpTic Gaming to form OpTic Texas. This happened shortly after the former Envy Halo Infinite team rebranded to OpTic Gaming, making the previous in-game Envy skins only available for a limited time.

ValorIntel was the first to leak the rebranding. Who noticed a new OpTic jersey on its website, featuring FNS and Victor “Victor” Wong. All of the former Envy players have made the switch official on Twitter by adding the OpTic tag to their names. “OpTic introduced me to esports. “I’m glad to be representing them now,” star duelist Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker tweeted.

As previously stated, the custom VALORANT OpTic Gaming jerseys went unnoticed on the internet until Wednesday, when they were discovered by a Twitter user named Xena5832. These jerseys received no attention from the OpTic Gaming or Envy Twitter accounts.

Envy won VALORANT in 2021 and was one of three North American teams to compete at VALORANT Champions in December. Envy was invited to the VALORANT Champions Tour Challengers 1 main event as a result of their success. The team hasn’t played or been seen since Champions, implying that there was a covert rebranding that hasn’t been revealed yet. VCT Challengers 1 begins on February 11th, and the Envy logo has yet to be changed to that of OpTic Gaming.
