Sony, Riot Games, and other major corporations provide monetary aid to Ukraine- The Russia-Ukraine conflict is still ongoing and it does not look like it will stop anytime soon. To condemn the invasion of Russia, many corporations are taking steps to show their stand. The video gaming industry has also shown its solidarity with the people of Ukraine. Riot Games and Sony are some of the major corporations from this industry who have announced to provide support through monetary aid to war-torn Eastern Europe.

Sony donates $2 million support relief to Ukraine

Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed its stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict. They have joined the global community and are asking for Russia to halt their invasion and call for peace for the people of Ukraine. To make an impact, Sony has announced that they will suspend all software and hardware shipments to Russia. Moreover, the launch of Gran Turismo 7 and operations of the PlayStation Store in Russia has also been halted.

Apart from the bans, Sony is also looking to provide support to the people of Ukraine through monetary aid. Sony Group Corporation has announced that they will provide a $2 million USD donation to the United States High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Save The Children NGO. These organizations will provide support to the people who have fallen victim to this conflict.

Riot Games has raised more than $3 million for Ukraine support aid

Riot Games had already announced that they would offer the revenue generated from the sale of Battle Pass of various Riot gaming IPs. From 5th till 12th March, players who buy Battle Pass of VALORANT, Legends of Runeterra, Teamfight Tactics, and Wild Rift will be donating money for supporting humanitarian efforts in Ukraine and the surrounding regions.

Through the sale of Battle Passes, Riot has already raised more than $2 million. Moreover, Riot Games has also announced that they will be donating $1 million from their side for this initiative. The time for collecting money from the sale of Battle Passes is still open, so the amount can still increase. The money raised will be given to International Medical Corps, Polish Red Cross, and Doctors Without Borders who are currently helping with relief work in Ukraine.

Apart from Riot Games and Sony, other esports and video gaming companies like Electronic Arts, ESL, Ubisoft, etc have also spoken against the Russia-Ukraine conflict and are calling for peace.
