Samsung has revealed a new display that works in 3D without the need for 3D glasses. Additionally, the company claims that users of this monitor can play VR games without the need for a headset. It was created under the working name “Samsung 2D/3D Gaming Monitor,” and in the gaming and esports category, it won the CES 2024 Innovation Award.
Right now, there’s a big tech show called CES 2024 that is ongoing, and it’s revealing lots of cool new gadgets like computer stuff, TVs, and more. Big companies like LG, Asus, and Alienware are showing off fancy monitors for gamers, professionals, and regular folks. The Samsung 2D/3D Gaming Monitor is one of those cool monitors.
Expected Features in Samsung 2D/3D Monitor
The Samsung 2D/3D is a cutting-edge 37-inch 4K gaming monitor featuring a Neo QLED panel. Samsung went all out by including cutting-edge AI visual recognition and unique screen technology. Without the need for glasses or a headset, they ingeniously use two cameras at the top of the monitor to give you a 3D and VR experience. These are all the features of the Samsung 2D/3D Gaming Monitor, as described in a booth slide from CES 2024.

Additionally, the monitor analyses the colour and complexity of the screen content to deliver 3D effects like shadowing. It can adjust the monitor screen’s graphics’ brightness and direction without sacrificing colour or brightness.
At this point, the new display is only a concept under development; an official release date has not yet been set. Although Samsung has stated that they’ll provide further details later this year, we’re not sure if this will ever materialise as a device. If and when it does reach retail, expect to pay a premium for the opportunity to enjoy Samsung’s 3D experience in the comfort of your own home without the need for glasses.
