Riot Games had launched this initiative called VCT Game Changers last year. Which will add to the competitive season by providing new chances and exposure for female athletes. Within Valorant esports, it also allows other disadvantaged genders an opportunity. The Valorant community is becoming increasingly large and diversified across the world. We hope to evolve towards a Valorous Champions Tour that is more inclusive and representative of our community through Game Changers.
It is still unknown if the Japanese Game Changers will follow the same structure as the other regions, which all have three tournaments each year. This year’s Game Changers will also include a worldwide Game Changers Championship, which will begin in November but has yet to be scheduled. Fans are excited to see how many women’s teams will sign up for the tournament in terms of the amount. Each tournament in North America has 128 open places, with the best 12 teams advancing to the main event.
