The stadium holds the capacity to gather 60,334 people. It is the home to the Shenzhen F.C., the Chinese professional football club that competes in the Chinese Super League.
John Needham, Global Head of Esports for Riot Games said ” We’re extremely excited to push the boundaries of entertainment and sport this year with Worlds 2021 and define the next 10 years of LoL Esports, Shenzhen is China’s most competitive and innovative city with thousands of high-tech startups and entrepreneurial pursuits, so we felt that it was the perfect landscape to host our Finals.”
There has been no clear announcement regarding the presence of a live audience during the complete event. The organizers will decide the fate of fans in the near future. Seeing the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic, it seems hard to host a live audience event.
