On Wednesday, Riot Games announced the deployment of multi-factor authentication (2FA) in order to combat account misuse and advance its goal of player security in Valorant also lol account. Instead of the initial state, when prompts only appeared when signing in from a new or unverified device, players will be able to secure their accounts by authenticating each login by email with this feature.

Two-factor authentication is a straightforward concept that ensures the security of your account. Passwords aren’t as secure as we assume, which is where two-factor authentication comes in. 2FA can be used with a different email address, a phone number, or any other method of communication. Essentially, when you sign in, before being directed to your account, you must authorize the sign-in by entering a 6-digit code (though this varies by site) that was sent to the email or phone number you provided upon 2FA permission.
