Respawn Entertainment is developing a new single-player FPS game set in the Apex Legends universe, which also happens to be the Titanfall universe. According to job postings that are hiring developers for the project, the new game is under development. Based on the description of a “incubation unit” for the upcoming game, not much can be learned about what kind of game it will be outside a first-person shooter and single-player.
Respawn previously disclosed that they were developing a new single-player game, though it’s not clear if this is the same game that is now in production or something else entirely. Apex Universe FPS Incubation title is what the job posting for a senior engine/systems designer on the Respawn website refers to; this suggests that a small team is working on the game before it is ready for a public announcement.
Respawn Entertainment’s followers are aware of the seasoned studio’s abilities. The studio, which began with Call of Duty, has dramatically expanded its portfolio to work on additional first-person shooter games with engaging narratives including Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond and Titanfall. Despite not being a flawless narrative experience, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in 2019 established the Respawn team as a studio capable of producing a fully realised single-player experience free of multiplayer elements. Single Player Apex Legends
It will probably take some time before this game’s official release date is confirmed because Respawn already has a lot on its plate with the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel and Apex Legends’ ongoing maintenance. It would be fascinating to see how Respawn does over the next months given that players are being urged to boycott the battle royale through a movement called “No Apex August.”
