Valkyrae announces re-signing with YouTube Gaming on 31st January
Yesterday on 31st January, she posted a video on Twitter that announced her re-signing with YouTube. The video shows us a behind-the-scenes part of a set where everyone is propping up for the reveal of Valkyrae’s new streaming platform. Different colored items like purple and red wigs, blue coffee mugs, etc were used to depict the choices of Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook respectively. While it looks like Facebook was not an option as Valkyrae directly says no to the blue coffee mug and breaks it, in the final stage we see her explaining that she plans to stay on YouTube.
YouTube is still able to keep famous streamers under its umbrella
Twitch is still rising in popularity because of the large streamers on the platform, and many like Disguised Toast returning back. Thus, it was speculated that they will be able to become the undisputed number one streaming platform, further increasing the gap between them and YouTube. Hence, Ludwig’s jump to YouTube a few months back was seen as a foolhardy decision. But with Valkyrae deciding to stay back, it looks like YouTube is also serious about keeping its talented streamers on the platform.
Anyways, it looks like fans will again find Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter streaming regularly on YouTube as soon as she comes back from her break. With other major names like DrDisrespect and TimTheTatman still making the platform more popular, it looks like YouTube Gaming will not kneel down against Twitch so easily in the future.
