After the recent brawl between Indo-China border at the Galwan Valley. The Government of India has started taking some strict action against the Chinese Government. On Monday, the Ministry of Electronics and IT have announced the ban of 59 Chinese famous apps in India. Including Tiktok, Helo, WeChat, UC Browser and many more. Besides this, the govt is also thinking of stopping the imports of all the items from China.
To let you know many Chinese apps are being accused of stealing private data all over the world. Government of India stated, “For safety, security, defence, sovereignty & integrity of India and to protect data & privacy of people of India we have banned the apps”. Clash of Kings and Mobile Legends are the two gaming apps that also got banned besides other apps. So the question has raised all over the country on “Why Pubg Mobile didn’t get banned in India”. The answer lies between the ownership of the game.
ORIGIN OF PUBG MOBILE
The man behind the creation of the game is Brendan Greene originated from Ireland. In 2015, Brendan joined as the creator of the game and the online multiplayer game was developed and published by PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of South Korean video game company Bluehole. After the massive success of the game. The company entered the Chinese gaming market by joining hands with Tencent, a Chinese company who developed the mobile version of the game.
Since Bluehole is a subsidiary of Krafton Game Union a South Korean video game holding company based in Seongnam. Tencent holds 10% stakes in Bluehole but manages all the work of the mobile version. Whereas games like Clash of Kings which is developed and published by Elex Tech based in Beijing, China. Thus comes under the radar of Government of India as the ownership of the game is with the Chinese company.
CONCLUSION
Though the PUBG game was developed by a Korean based company and the mobile version of the game was developed by Tencent, a Chinese conglomerate. The origin of the game will be considered as Korean because the majority of the stakes is held by parent company Bluehole.
