She called out those labeling the cookies as overpriced, stating, “When people are like ‘oh my god $28 for cookies.’ It’s four bags, that’s $7 per bag. I know, I know math is hard when you’re an idiot. But, if you’re a broke boy just say so.”
The response, however, triggered a wave of backlash on social media. Hundreds of users criticized Pokimane for being “insensitive” and accused her of being “out of touch” with her audience. Some users described her reaction as one of the “worst ways possible” to handle criticism.
