In this series, the Pokemon UNITE World Championship was the final event where the best teams from around the world qualified to compete.
13 teams from different regions of the world had come to take part in the largest Pokemon UNITE tournament of the year. Out of all these teams, it was BLVKHVND who lasted till the end. They defeated Nouns Esports in the Grand Finals to become the 2022 world champions.
BLVKHVND went undefeated in the entire tournament
Participating in this championship, BLVKHVND’s roster consisted of:
- Junglebook
- Slash
- Elo
- Kyriaos
- Overlord
In the entire course of the tournament, BLVKHVND did not lose even a single series, whether it be in the group stage or the playoffs. It shows how dominant they were when compared to other teams in the Pokemon UNITE World Championship.

In the group stage, they were slotted into Group C. Here they defeated both IClen and Apprentice Unleashed teams by 2-1 in their respective series. It allowed them to top the group.
In the Playoffs, they faced No Show in the Upper Bracket Quarter Finals and defeated them by 2-1. Advancing into the Upper Bracket Semi-Finals, they faced IX Gaming and were able to sweep them 2-0. It was a similar story in Upper Bracket Finals as they swept Renaissance by 2-0 there.
With this momentum, they were even able to dominate Nouns Esports in Grand Finals and register a 3-0 clean sweep against them. With this victory, they walked away with the 2022 Pokemon UNITE World Championship title and $100,000 as prize money.
India’s performance in the 2022 Pokemon UNITE World Championship
When the schedule for the Pokemon UNITE Championship Series was announced, India was not mentioned as a qualifying region. But it was soon changed and our country got added as one of the official regions in the series.

From here, it was Revenant Esports that had qualified and represented India at the 2022 Pokemon UNITE World Championship. The team’s roster consisted of:
- OMEN
- Crowley
- XesoL
- Badshahh
- Novaa
Unfortunately, Revenant Esports was not able to put up their best performance in the tournament. They had lost all three series in Group A, winning only a single match out of the seven that they played. They were ranked as the last team in this year’s World Championship and were the first to exit it.
One of the major reasons that it happened is because of the lack of a competitive Pokemon UNITE scene in India. Let’s hope that the situation changes in the future and our teams perform better on the international stage.
