Pokemon UNITE creates a new milestone by crossing 70 million downloads on Switch and Mobile platforms- As one of the latest entries into the mobile MOBA genre, Pokemon UNITE has risen up in rankings. It now gives tough competition to the top titles like League of Legends Wild Rift and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. The game has now reached a new milestone, crossing the 70 million download mark on the Switch and Mobile platforms. It shows that the game is becoming more popular among people. Let us look at what makes the game unique.
Pokemon UNITE: Unique map design and gameplay
Contrary to other popular mobile MOBAs, Pokemon UNITE brings in a new map called Aeos island. It is a left-to-right oriented map with only two parallel lanes for the Pokemons to fight on. There is a common jungle area in the middle of the lanes where wild Pokemons and the final legendary Pokemon – Zaptos emerge.
Aeos energy is collected by defeating wild or enemy Pokemons. This energy can then be used to score points in the opponent team’s goal zones. These goal zones are situated on the lanes. At the end of the battle, the team with the most points wins. Players need to work with their teammates to earn points and defend their goal zones to limit opponents’ opportunities to score.
Pokemon UNITE: Game duration and unique Pokemons
Each battle in Pokemon UNITE takes place for a fixed time, which is ten minutes. Players need to select the moves of their Pokemons as they can potentially learn while evolving in the battle. As the battle progresses, Pokemons will get stronger and learn a variety of new moves.
There are Pokemons from various generations that players can choose from in the draft phase. Iconic Generation I Pokemons like Pikachu, Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard are available. Pokemons from the latest Generation VIII like Cinderace and Duraludon are also available in the game. The roster also has Pokemon choices from other Generations. Players need to select between the different choices to make a balanced team composition. It will increase their chances of winning.
