Pokemon GO Water Festival 2022: Pokemon debuts
The following Pokemons will be making a debut in Pokemon GO during the event.
- Dewpider
- Araquanid
- Lapras wearing a scarf (also its Shiny version)
Tapu Fini, the Legendary Pokemon that is the guardian deity of Poni Island, will also be appearing in raids during the Pokemon GO Water Festival 2022. Trainers will also be able to encounter Shiny Binacle in the game for the first time.
Challenges and Researches
A Global Challenge will take place during the Water Festival event, beginning on May 11 at 01:00 PM and ending on May 21 at 01:00 AM. Trainers from around the world can work together to catch different types of Water-type Pokemons to earn a bonus. A total of 600,000,000 Water-type Pokemons must be caught globally. Every trainer will receive 2× Candy for catching Pokemon as a bonus reward.
The Season of Alola’s fourth Special Research story will be available on May 10 at 10:00 AM local time. Timed Research tasks focusing on catching Pokemons will also be available during the Water Festival 2022 event. Trainers can complete the Timed Research tasks to receive 50 Gyarados Mega Energy, 1,000 XP, 1,000 Stardust, and encounters with Lapras wearing a scarf and Dewpider as rewards.
Bonuses and Avatar Items
During the Water Festival event, trainers can enjoy the following bonuses.
- Rainy Lure Modules activated during the event will last for two hours.
- Trainers will receive 2× Candy from hatching Eggs.
- There will also be Increased Candy XL from hatching Eggs.
Trainers can also celebrate the Water Festival 2022 event by getting new avatar items. The Water Festival Scarf will be available for purchase at the in-game shop during and after the event.
