Pokemon GO: Season of Light arrives tomorrow. Check out the new events coming with it.


Pokemon GO Season of Light begins on Thursday, Sept. 1- A new season arrives in Pokemon GO. It is called Season of Light and trainers will be able to catch new Pokemons as well as partake in exciting events during its period. The season starts on Sept. 1 and will continue until Dec. 1. Here is everything that you need to know about this upcoming season.

Pokemon Go Season of Light: New Nebula Pokemon Cosmog

Professor Willow has returned and this time, he has discovered a mysterious new Pokemon. Trainers will be able to find and learn more about the Legendary Pokemon Cosmog throughout the Season of Light.

Trainers can also look out for avatar items in the game shop, that have been inspired by Cosmog. They will also be able to get season-themed stickers by spinning PokeStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the game shop.

Pokemon Go Season of Light: GO Battle League

The GO Battle League: Season of Light update will bring forth new tournaments. Trainers can participate in Psychic Cup, the Weather Cup, and the Halloween Cup: Ultra League Edition.

With the arrival of the new season:

  • End-of-Season rewards will be available on the battle screen.
  • Every trainer’s previous season’s GO Battle League rank will be reset.
  • Rank-up requirements will remain the same as the prior Season.

Season of Light: Limited Research

A new limited research will be available in Pokemon GO on Sept. 3 from 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM local time.

Trainers will be able to partake in Field Research tasks leading to encounters with Inkay when they spin Photo Discs at PokeStops. If they are lucky, they may even encounter a Shiny version.

The following bonuses will be active during the limited research event.

  • 2x Candy for catching Pokemons.
  • Increased chance of encountering Shiny Inkay.

During the three hours of the events, trainers will be able to encounter the following Pokemons and their shiny counterparts.

  • Alolan Rattata
  • Murkrow
  • Houndour
  • Poochyena
  • Nuzleaf
  • Sableye
  • Purrloin
