Pokemon Scarlet & Violet will introduce the Gen 9 of the franchise- During the Pokemon Day event of 27th February, Game Freak has announced the upcoming titles of the Pokemon franchise that will introduce Gen 9 Pokemons. These will be Pokemon Violet and Pokemon Scarlet. Here are all the details announced about these games.

Pokemon Gen 9 Announcement:
Game Freak will be releasing the ninth Pokemon generation by the end of 2022. The upcoming titles will be Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. Both of these games will have an open-world-like environment in the game, which will be similar to the already released Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
From the official trailer released, we can see that both of these games will be set on a highland landscape that is near the sea. Thus, many people are speculating that the in-game areas are based upon either Spanish Peninsula (Mediterranean) or Mexico (Caribbean). If players go to the official Pokemon website, it announces that “Pokemon Scarlet & Violet take a new evolutionary step. Trainers can explore an open world where various towns with no borders blend seamlessly into the wilderness. Pokemon can be seen everywhere in this wide-open world—in the skies, in the sea, and on the streets.”
Three new starting Pokemons revealed
Apart from the announcement of the upcoming Pokemon titles, Game Freak also revealed the three starting Gen 9 Pokemons that players will be able to choose in these games. These three Pokemons are:
- Sprigatito for the Grass-type.
- Fuecoco for the Fire-type.
- Quaxly for the Water-type.
According to the official game reveal video trailer on YouTube, Game Freak has stated that both these Gen 9 titles will be released in late 2022. If one considers the past game releases, Pokemon Violet and Pokemon Scarlet will be available to the players in the month of November 2022.
