Pokemon FPS developer to release a statement after Nintendo took down his gameplay videos- Pokemon can be considered the most recognizable animation franchise from Japan which has also branched out into other areas successfully. It includes Pokemon cards and video games. But recently a fan has given a more violent spin to the Pokemon universe by creating an FPS version of the game. Clearly, Nintendo was not happy with this concept and has taken down the viral videos from most of the online social media platforms.

Game developer creates Pokemon FPS game footage that becomes viral

Going by the name of Dragon, this game developer posted a video of how he created an FPS version of the Pokemon game on 20th January. It showed the player hunting Pokemons in an open-world setting. The player was using pistols, assault rifles, and various other guns to take down regular Pokemons roaming around like Pikachu, Nidoqueen, Arbok, Nidoking, Hitmonchan, and various others.

The gameplay video also showed the player battling legendary Pokemons in boss-style battles like Zapdos, Articuno, and Mewtwo on different stages. Although there was not much blood or gore depicted in the gameplay, it was still disturbing for many to see their favorite Pokemons being gunned down. As expected, as soon as the videos went viral, Nintendo took quick action against them.

Nintendo takes down all the Pokemon FPS videos on YouTube and Twitter

As Pokemon is known for its light theme and positive approach that is mainly catered towards a younger population, Nintendo was not pleased with the depiction of violence and the association of guns with Pokemons. It took quick action by taking down all the Pokemon FPS-related videos on YouTube and Twitter. Dragon, who was the sole developer of this project also got his YouTube channel deactivated.

Dragon has recently gone to this Twitter handle to share that he will be making a statement about this fiasco soon enough. He may be shedding light on everything that went down between him and Nintendo regarding the Pokemon FPS project. Stick with us as we bring to you more updates regarding this topic.
