The annual PUBG Mobile Global Championship, also known as PMGC, is back for 2022. It is the highest honour for any esports team or player involved with this mega event. The dates and prize money for the next PMGC 2022, as well as a timeline for the Chinese qualifying process, were published on social media by Chinese officials ahead of the rest of the globe.
It will be the largest tournament, which is $4M USD, and will be worth more than 31 Crore in Indian Rupees. PMGC 2022 Timeline:
The League Stage, which includes 48 teams from the regional professional leagues, will be played initially on November 22. The top 13 teams at the conclusion of League Stage advance to the Grand Finals. The formats of the stages, however, have not yet been made public by the organisers. The Grand Finals will take place in January 2023. The finals will feature 16 teams in total, including 3 teams who were invited directly.
In comparison to previous PUBG Mobile Events, Tencent has raised the number of slots in the PMGC 2022. The 2021 season’s slots were expanded from 24 to 48 teams, up from the total of 24 teams in the 2020 edition. This year’s event will feature 51 teams competing for a huge prize fund and the prized trophy. Tencent revealed a few days ago that four teams from China will be directly invited to the PMGC 2022, with one team gaining a spot in the Grand Finals itself.
PMGC 2022 Grand Finals will be LAN Event in Indonesia
The top 13 teams from this league will proceed to the grand finals, where they will face off against three more invited teams in a contest for a sizable prize fund. In Indonesia in January 2023, PMGC 2022 will likewise be held in LAN style, with the league stage lasting a total of four weeks. It is unknown if the league stage will also follow a LAN format.
