In 2020, PGL esports tried their best to provide one of the biggest esports events but unfortunately, they had to cancel both CS: GO majors. But the fans have been awarded its first major for 2021 by the PGL Esports. PGL Esports announced that they will be hosting PGL MAJOR STOCKHOLM 2021 which will have of the largest prize pool in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. PGL MAJOR STOCKHOLM 2021 will take place from October 23 to November 7 with the prize pool of $2,000,000 USD. This event will be the first of its kind event where we will see the broadcasting at 4K in 60FPS. Finals of PGL MAJOR STOCKHOLM 2021 will take place in front of a live audience at Ericsson Globe from November 4-7, 2021.

After the last year’s Covid-19 pandemic which caused the cancellation of all major events. As a result of this ESL had to postpone the event from May to November but the numbers of affected people increased so they had to cancel the Major which was set to take place in Rio De Janeiro. But in 2021, CS: GO Major is coming home, Sweden where it started in 2013.
PGL MAJOR STOCKHOLM 2021 will be the first Major in Stockholm and the third one in Sweden. This is the third time when PGL will be involved in CS: GO Major after 2015 and 2017. During 2017 Major PGL Esports introduced the first 1080p 60FPS stream of matches and now they are going one step ahead. They will broadcast the whole event in 4K 60FPS quality.
