NBA 2K24 Cover Athlete: Kobe Bryant featured for the fourth time, Pre-Order starts today – As the NBA 2K franchise is set to celebrate its 25 years, the developers have announced that the cover athlete for NBA 2K24 will be the legendary late Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant is considered to be one of the greatest basketball players by many fans. One of the main reasons that the NBA 2K franchise might have selected him as this year’s cover athlete is because of his iconic 24 number jersey. The Lakers’ basketball star switched from his previous No. 8 to 24 in the 2006-07 season. 24 was the number he wore in his high school at Lower Merion.

Bryant attained similar numbers and achievements under both numbers. He had 16,777 points as No. 8, winning three titles and earning eight All-Star appearances. As No. 24, he had 16,866 points, went to 10 All-Star Games and won his other two titles. His also won a scoring title while wearing each number.
Greg Thomas, president of Visual Concepts (which is the developer of the NBA 2K franchise) has stated: As we celebrate 25 years of NBA 2K with Kobe Bryant, we commemorate his legacy and the generational impact he has had on the game of basketball.”While we mark the history of the franchise, NBA 2K24 also looks ahead to the future to bring an innovative leap in technology and the introduction of community-requested features like crossplay.

NBA 2K24 Pre-Order starts today (July 7)
As stated by Greg Thomas previously, NBA 2K24 will support crossplay. Hence later today, fans will be able to pre-order the Kobe Bryant Edition and Black Mamba Edition from different platform stores—PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox. The pre-order bonus has not yet been revealed.
