MSI 2023 Bracket Stage Day 3: BLG clean swept Cloud9 by 3-0 to advance further in the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational- After the LEC and LCK teams had fought it out, we witnessed the next two regions duke it out at the Mid-Season Invitational 2023. While League of Legends fans were expecting a close series between Bilibili Gaming and Cloud9, it was another western stomp show by the Eastern region. Here are the highlights of MSI 2023 Bracket Stage Day 3.

The LPL second seed, BLG faced off against the LCS first seed, Cloud9. In all games, C9 had a good early-game advantage but BLG managed to out-scale them and register victories.

Game 1

Despite BLG focusing on map objectives, we saw C9 go head-to-head against BLG and keep the gold almost even until the end of mid-game. From thereon, BLG slowly took control of the Summoner’s Rift and created such a huge lead by 34 minutes that their victory became inevitable.

Game 2

Despite the earlier loss, C9 looked more focused in the second game of the series. The LCS first seed even managed to obtain multiple objectives in the mid-game to stay afloat. But they lost a crucial Baron team fight and allowed BLG to gain momentum. This helped the LPL second seed to snowball and end the game in 31 minutes.

Game 3

In this do-or-die match, C9’s jungler Blaber gave his best performance and tried to help his team. Unfortunately, BLG’s entire team looked more synchronized in team fights which helped them win in key moments. BLG eventually destroyed the enemy nexus to register a clean sweep 3-0 series win.

Out of all the western vs eastern team matchups at the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational, this series between BLG and C9 looked the closest one. Unfortunately for American fans, C9 was still unable to convert their leads into a single victory.

With this win, Bilibili Gaming has advanced to the Upper Bracket Semifinals of the Mid-Season Invitational 2023. Meanwhile, Cloud9 fall down to the Lower Bracket and have to fight their way out of it.
