MSI 2023 Bracket Stage Day 2: T1 topples down MAD Lions by 3-0 to begin their journey in 2023 Mid-Season Invitational – On the second day of the Bracket Stage at Mid-Season Invitational 2023, fans saw MAD Lions and T1 going head-to-head. The results were slightly similar to the previous LCK vs LEC matchup as T1 clean-swept MAD to register a 3-0 series victory. Here are the highlights of MSI 2023 Bracket Stage Day 2.

MSI 2023 Bracket Stage Day 2: T1 topples down MAD Lions by 3-0 to begin their journey in the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational

The LCK second seed, T1 faced off against the LEC first seed, MAD Lions. Both teams were equally favored going into the series but T1 just kept getting better as the day progressed.

Game 1

In the first game of the series, MAD Lions had a great start in the early phase. They were even able to snowball this into a huge lead by the mid-game. But T1 held on patiently and waited until Gumayusi’s Aphelios scaled up. Riding on their ADC’s high damage, T1 staged a comeback and won the game, denying all of MAD’s efforts.

Game 2

After winning the previous game, T1’s stuck to their winning mantra, funnel everything into Gumayusi and protecting him in teamfights. This strategy allowed the LCK second seed to play more confidently with both aggression and cautiousness. Meanwhile, MAD’s plays kept failing and their champions lost crucial fights. By the late game, T1 strolled into the enemy base and destroyed their nexus while MAD could only watch them do so.

Game 3

It seemed as if MAD had fallen completely under T1’s momentum. We saw T1’s perform their best in recent months as they defeated MAD in a record time of 16 minutes and 47 seconds. Gumayusi was the star again with a 10/0/3 KDA on his Jinx pick.

This series proves how dangerous is T1 in any game. They never give up even when playing in a deficit and try to give their best plays. Meanwhile, teams should never allow them to get an early lead as it allows T1 to just rush towards victory sooner.

With this win, T1 has advanced to the Upper Bracket Semifinals of the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational. They will face off against Gen.G and will look to prevent a recap of LCK Spring 2023 from happening.

MAD Lions must recover from this defeat and fight in the Lower Bracket to stay alive in the tournament. Their next series will be against fellow-regional team G2 Esports.

Stay tuned as we bring to you the latest updates from League of Legends and the ongoing MSI 2023.
