MSI 2022 Rumble Stage Day 5: T1, G2 Esports, and Evil Geniuses make it to Knockout Stage while PSG Talon’s journey ends here – Day 5 was monumental as 4 teams were competing for the last 3 qualifying spots of the Knockout Stage. While T1 was already near to qualification, PSG Talon failed to perform today and hence got eliminated. This gave much-needed respite to especially G2 Esports. The team’s qualification was in question due to the defeats they faced on Day 3 and Day 4. Let us take a look at the six matches that were held on the final day of the Rumble Stage of MSI 2022.

1st Match: G2 Esports vs Saigon Buffalo

G2 picked Vladimir, Wukong, Anivia, Kai’sa, and Nautilus while Saigon went with Aatrox, Gwen, Galio, Xayah, and Renata Glasc. The better draft of Saigon allowed them to perform better in team fights. G2 champions suffered in the middle and bottom lanes as Saigon ganked them easily. After taking the first Baron Nashor, Saigon ended the game at 26 minutes with an 18-7 kill score against G2.

2nd Match: Evil Geniuses vs PSG Talon

This was a do-or-die match for PSG and they chose Leona, Vex, Kai’sa, Lee Sin, and Ornn. Evil Geniuses went with Gangplank, Nocturne, Ahri, Samira, and Nautilus. While PSG was able to maintain similar gold levels with EG in the early game, EG started to outperform them in team fights and make it one-sided from the mid-game. With the first Baron Nashor, EG was able to close the game against PSG at 29 minutes with a 22-5 kill score.

3rd Match: Saigon Buffalo vs T1

Saigon was not able to perform their magic against T1 as they did it in the previous match against G2. They went with Camille, Viego, Galio, Kai’sa, and Taric while T1 chose Gwen, Poppy, Twisted Fate, Renata Glasc, and Xayah. T1 was completely stomping Saigon in this game, taking all the map objectives and winning team fights. With the first Baron Nashor buff, T1 ended the game against Saigon in 23 minutes with a 24-9 kill score.

4th Match: PSG Talon vs Royal Never Give Up

PSG looked deflated in this match as they had already lost their chance to qualify. They went with Gangplank, Vex, Viego, Renata Glasc, and Aphelios. RNG completely stomped them with their Gwen, Lee Sin, Galio, Xayah, and Karma champion picks. RNG successfully invaded PSG to gain 1st kill within 2 minutes. This gave them an early lead which continued to increase as the game progressed. RNG took almost every map objective and finished the game in 26 minutes with a 22-3 kill score against PSG.

It helped them to turn the game in their favor and defeat EG at 35 minutes with a 14-10 kill score.

6th Match: T1 vs Royal Never Give Up

T1 chose Gwen, Lee Sin, Ahri, Xayah, and Nautilus while RNG went with Gangplank, Viego, Twisted Fate, Aphelios, and Alistar. T1 focused on getting objectives throughout the match.
