MSI 2022 Rumble Stage Day 1: G2 Esports end T1’s undefeated streak in Mid-Season Invitational 2022 Rumble Stage- The first day of the Rumble Stage of MSI 2022 was quite enthralling. The 6 teams that have qualified here competed against each other. We also saw some incredible matches between favorites of the tournament like T1 vs G2 and RNG vs G2. Spoiler alert, G2 Esports looks to be back in form as they defeated both these giants from the Korean and Chinese regions. Here is an overview of what went down on the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2022 Rumble Stage Day 1.
1st Match: T1 vs G2 Esports
Both teams went with some unique champion picks in their draft. G2 took Ornn, Diana, Yasuo, Kalista, and Rakan. T1 on the other hand chose Rell, Tristana, Twisted Fate, Kennen, and Viego. While T1 was ahead in the early to mid-game, G2 was able to bounce back and reverse the match in their favor. G2 made a comeback and won the game in 39 minutes with a 20-8 kill score against T1.
2nd Match: Evil Geniuses vs Royal Never Give Up
This was a one-sided thrashing of EG from RNG. EG chose Gwen, Diana, Yasuo, Jhin, and Leona. On the other hand, RNG picked Gangplank, Xin Zhao, Twisted Fate, Ezreal and Braum. EG fell back since the early game and was never able to overcome the deficit. RNG captured almost all of the key objectives and ended the game at 34 minutes with a 22-11 kill score against EG.
3rd Match: PSG Talon vs Saigon Buffalo
PSG went with Viego, Ahri, Rakan, Xayah, and Gwen while Saigon picked Tristana, Rell, Veigar, Volibear, and Vladimir. This game could be considered a jungle difference between the teams as PSG claimed almost every map objective throughout the match. While Saigon was able to almost make a comeback, PSG emerged victorious by ending the game in 40 minutes with a 25-13 kill score.
4th Match: G2 Esports vs Royal Never Give Up
G2 took Vladimir, Kai’sa, Nautilus, Zoe, and Wu Kong, while RNG got Ezreal, Ahri, Leona, Lee Sin, and Gwen. Both teams were quite equal in the early game, but G2 was able to get more objective in the mid-game and increase the gold lead by a lot. RNG was never able to make a comeback. G2 Esports won the game in 36 minutes with a 21-14 kill score.
5th Match: Saigon Buffalo vs Evil Geniuses
Saigon chose Rakan, Kai’sa, Galio, Wu Kong, and Gwen while Evil Geniuses took Viego, Ezreal, Twisted Fate, Leona, and Jax. When compared to the other games of the day, this one finished quickly. EG was able to take most map objectives and end the game in 28 minutes after taking the first Baron Nashor. They had a 20-11 kill score against Saigon.
6th Match: PSG Talon vs T1
Another one-sided stomp that happened on Day 1 of Rumble Stage at the MSI 2022. T1 picked Kalista, Gragas, Zoe, Graves, and Irelia while PSG picked Kennen, Viego, Ahri, Tristana, and Rell. Throughout the game, PSG was able to get only one Cloud Dragon. T1 obtained all the other map objectives and built up a sizeable lead that became impossible for PSG to overcome. T1 won the game in 33 minutes with a 15-9 kill score against PSG.
MSI 2022 Rumble Stage Day 1: Rankings
After all these six matches of League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2022 Rumble Stage Day 1, the rankings are:
- G2 Esports claim the top place with 2 match wins
- Evil Geniuses, PSG Talon, Royal Never Give Up, and T1, each team with a 1-1 (win-loss) match score
- Saigon Buffalo is in the last place after 2 match defeats
