MSI 2022 Day 5: G2 Esports and Evil Geniuses qualify for the Rumble Stage from Group C – G2 Esports continue their winning streak and Evil Geniuses were able to maintain their 2nd place in Group C. Unfortunately, Order was not able to register even a single win in this year’s MSI. Let’s check out the day 5 summary of the Mid-Season Invitational 2022.

1st Match: Evil Geniuses vs G2 Esports

Both teams played superbly in this match. In team fights, G2 showed their superb form by continuously outplaying Evil Geniuses (EG). But it looked like EG had done their homework. Their rotations were more impactful in the mid-game and they even won some crucial team fights to stay in the game. Both teams were neck-to-neck, but G2 could finally ace EG and win the game in 39 minutes with a 22-12 kill score.

2nd Match: Evil Geniuses vs Order

EG dominated in this match against Order. They continuously rotated on the map to pick off Order’s champions and claim objectives. The lack of farm did not help the late-game scaling Order champions as they could not perform in early to mid-game team fights. EG won the game in 23 minutes with a 24-5 kill score.

3rd Match: G2 Esports vs Order

G2 was able to out draft Order and pick up high mobility champions. It helped them to rotate smoothly and catch Order champions off guard multiple times. There were moments of brilliance from Order like the Baron Nashor steal. But the G2 momentum was too much for them to handle. G2 won the game in 26 minutes with a 28-10 kill score.

4th Match: G2 Esports vs Evil Geniuses

G2 continued to flex their form with their superior outplays, rotations, and team fights against EG. There were many instances where G2 outwitted EG champions, even in ambushes or when getting ganked upon. G2 also controlled the map most of the time which enabled them to earn kills and objectives. They won the game by defeating EG in 34 minutes with a 23-11 kill score.

5th Match: Order vs Evil Geniuses

This was a complete one-sided stomp by Evil Geniuses. The off-meta champion picks of Order were useless against the tactics of Evil Geniuses. Moreover, it looked like Order had already given up as they were playing sloppy. EG always outwitted them throughout the game and won the match easily in 23 minutes with an 18-2 kill score.

6th Match: Order vs G2 Esports

Order had to go through another defeat at the hands of G2 Esports. While their draft pick was better in this game, they fell against G2’s better team fight tactics and rotations. G2 continuously ambushed Order’s champions and got a significant lead in gold and objectives. G2 ended the nightmare as they won the game in 24 minutes with a 20-4 kill score.

This was the overview of Day 5 of the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2022. Stay tuned as we bring you the updates from the last day of the Group Stage later.
