MSI 2022 Day 4: RNG remain on top of Group B, PSG Talon occupies the second place
1st Match: PSG Talon vs RED Canids
Both teams played safe in this match and focused on farming or getting objectives in the early game. The first blood was taken by PSG Talon at the 10th minute after RED took the first Rift Herald. RED players were caught in a disadvantageous position during a dragon pit fight and got aced by PSG. From there, PSG snowballed and ended the game at 27 minutes with a 14-1 kill score.
2nd Match: Royal Never Give Up vs Istanbul Wildcats
In this match, Istanbul Wildcats (IW) tried to play aggressively to counter RNG’s similar strategy. But there were many misplays on their part which resulted in RNG champions surviving while IW got punished. IW fell being in gold and objectives which resulted in them losing more team fights. Thus, RNG won the game against IW in 23 minutes with a 28-11 kill score.
3rd Match: Istanbul Wildcats vs PSG Talon
It was a complete back-and-forth match with both teams trying their best to outwit each other. In the early game, IW and PSG focused on farming and jungle objectives. They started rotating and team fighting in the mid-game. While it looked like IW was ahead during the mid-game, PSG was able to weather them. In the late game, PSG’s scaling champions performed better than IW’s lineup. PSG won the game at 32 minutes with a 20-17 kill score.
4th Match: RED Canids vs Royal Never Give Up
RED Canids were completely outplayed by RNG in this game. They tried to engage and punish RNG’s aggressive playstyle but always fell short. RNG was able to pick up kills as well as objectives. It helped them end the game in 20 minutes with a 20-3 kill score against RED.
5th Match: RED Canids vs Istanbul Wildcats
RED Canids had a better game plan in this match as they were able to ambush IW many times. Their rotations and team fight executions were quite on-point which allowed them to get a massive lead against IW. Although IW tried to put up resistance after losing all their turrets and inhibitors, it was way too late. RED won the game against IW in 29 minutes with a 31-8 kill score.
6th Match: PSG Talon vs Royal Never Give Up
PSG Talon put up quite a nice fight against RNG making the match look quite close. PSG had more control of the map in the early game, killing RNG players and turrets. The fates turned against them when RNG stole the first Baron Nashor and successfully opened up the PSG base. Although PSG tried to fight back, the lack of turrets and RNG having an Infernal Soul was too much for them to handle. RNG beat PSG in 33 minutes with a 14-14 kill score.
