MPL PH Season 9 will be held offline starting from Week 3 – It has been almost 2 years since the world was gripped with COVID-19 and most things had to either close down or shift to online. Almost every esports league and tournament had to move to the online format to ensure the safety of their players and staff. The esports scene of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang also faced a similar situation.
The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) has been holding its Season 9 online, but finally the tournament will shift to the online format from Week 3. Thus from 4th March, that is tomorrow, MPL PH Season 9 will now be held offline.
MOONTON has revealed that it will now be able to hold the MPL Philippines Season 9 as an offline tournament. The Games and Amusement Board of the Philippines have given them permission to do so. Still, strict safety and health protocols are needed to be implemented and followed at the tournament location. Only players from participating esports teams, tournament casters, and the production staff will be allowed to enter the venue. There will be no live audience as of yet for the MPL Philippines Season 9.
This arrangement was also followed in the last MPL PH Season during the finals between Blacklist International and ONIC PH. At that time, the finalist teams did not meet and play on the stage but in separate rooms at the location.
