Microsoft and Nintendo sign 10-year binding contract, Call of Duty will now be released on both platforms at the same time – If you are a gaming fan, getting a console always depended upon the type of games you played. While Nintendo’s Switch mostly had adventure, RPG, or fighting games, for fast-paced shooter action, Xbox and Playstation were the obvious choices. But such a distinction is no longer necessary.

Xbox games will be available on Switch consoles in the future, thanks to the new agreement between Microsoft and Nintendo.

Microsoft and Nintendo sign 10-year binding contract, Call of Duty will now be released on both platforms at the same time

Brad Smith, the Vice Chair and President at Microsoft announced the company’s new 10-year agreement with Nintendo today. “We’ve now signed a binding 10-year contract to bring Xbox games to Nintendo’s gamers.” he said in his Twitter post. “This is just part of our commitment to bring Xbox games and Activision titles like Call of Duty to more players on more platforms.”

This move from Microsoft will bring in more competition in the gaming industry. But this contract will only come into force when the $68.7 billion USD deal between Microsoft and Call of Duty maker Activision Blizzard is completed without any hiccups.

This announcement is well-timed one since Microsoft is battling in the court for this deal to pass. Meanwhile, the European Commission and many other governmental regulatory bodies are expressing concerns about this deal as it may lead to a monopoly.

Anyways, if this 10-year contract between Microsoft and Nintendo starts, more game titles will make their way to Nintendo Switch.
